Help! Leaving tomorrow, best way to bring money, ATM?

What is the best way to bring money? or place with best conversion rates? I keep reading that ATMS are the best way to go but I just want to make sure. Thank you

Call your credit card company(s) to let them know you will be charging in Europe.
Take some US$ to convert as soon as you arrive. Take enough for your taxi ride and enough for 1st dinner and "just in case".
We found we were able to get Euros from every ATM we tried - with ATM card and debit card.
We charged what we wanted and got cash out when we needed it.

Gracieb's advice is very good. Also, be sure not to use your credit card for a cash advance. This will be very costly for you. It's best to use your ATM from your checking account. You also want to ensure you have a four digit pin.

Have a great trip!

Just returned from Greece, and started travel only with one debit card and one credit card, and following the above-advice, had no problem.

ATM's are the way to go- I have 2 ATM cards: one for Cirrus and one for PLUS. That way I can get money from any ATM.

Having had my ATM card "eaten" by the machine (I had been assured that this could never happen ) I was glad that I had a back up card, :-B

I recommend you ask your bank for a second card,"just in case". When we get off our plane, our first stop is always at an ATM. I have never had a problem and use them often.
