HELP! LEAVING TODAY FOR PARIS!
I thought of everything except this - we are planning a day trip to Bruges. Can I spend French Franks there or must I exchange for Belgian Franks? Can I do that in France or must I wait to reach Bruges? I will take credit card with me, but I'm concerned about lunch or some small purchases. Thanks!! Linda

Linda: Typically, one country won't take another country's money for purchases. You could exchange the money when you arrive, if it's a small amount, the exchange rate (if it isn't in your favor) won't be too bad. If you have an ATM card, just use that. You will be surprised at how many places accept credit cards.

Have fun!

I just got back from Bruges a week or so ago. I don't know about FF, but many places were willing to take US$ (although I don't know what exchange rate they give you). There are also plenty of change places around the square, though i found their rates to be pretty bad.
Before you go, Linda, learn how to spell "francs"!

Thanks for the info and the spelling lesson! I appreciate it all.

"Parlez": Get off her back, who the hell cares how she spells "francs" besides you?

Get a job!

Hey, Leo, note that the original poster wasn't offended. Why are you? Get a life!

Damn it all, I've been had by a "troll". Arrrgghhhh!

We did a day trip from Paris to Liege, Belgium on May 31. We used FF to pay for taxi rides.
