Help! Leave tomorrow! Inexpensive London B&B

I'm making a last-minute mad dash to London tomorrow to assist a friend and we have never been before. Just need something (obviously) clean, safe, central and would also love a decent breakfast (eggs, etc). We would like to not have to stay in a hostel and was wondering if there would be a Bed and Breakfast that would meet our needs for around 50 to 60 pounds for a double. We are attending a show at the Southbank Centre in the evening so it would be nice to stay somewhere reasonably close for an easy commute back at night. Thank you so much!!!

Try the Premier Inn at London County Hall, a bit over your budget but clean, reliable and very close to Southbank.

I stayed at that Premier Inn last year....but suspect that if you are booking for tomorrow will be over £100. But tbh, anywhere that's £50-60you won't want to stay in

Thank you for the suggestion. I normally like to spend lots of time researching my destinations, so this is very difficult for me to go without much knowledge. I knew I could count on you guys to help.
A story of unrequited love...I am going with a dear old friend of mine that has finally decided she loves a man that has been in love with her for the past 18 years since high school. He doesn't know she's coming! She asked me to go with her (yesterday!!) for moral support.

I haven't checked availability for tomorrow. That's quite something about your friend. Good luck to all three of you!

Looks like I'll have to spend a bit more to get a nice place. I just started looking so I wasn't sure...

I ended up getting a room at Lime Tree. It's quite a bit above my original price point (HA!) but I'll splurge and treat us to a nice stay!!! I'm so excited and nervous for my friend! Fingers crossed!!

jump on priceline or hotwire (Check betterbidding.com first)

Last minute bookings are often won at really low rates. (I'm talking about the 'name your own price feature -- not the straight booking side)

Priceline only deals w/ doubles and after winning you can contact the hotel and request a twin room. I usuallu don't bother though since at check in I've always been asked if I wanted a double or twins.

W/ hotwire you can specifiy number of beds.

Give them a try and if you aren't successful, check both Londontown.com and laterooms.com

I noticed that, but was intrigued by her earlier posts and would love to know. Darn.

Update...we surprised him by showing up for his concert (he's a singer) right before his show by sending a hand written note to his dressing room. We went out afterwards for a late dinner and then they met up the next evening and it went really well but there was some mixed feelings upon returning home but they ended up working things out as time has passed. Definetly one of the neatest experiences I got to be apart of.

BTW, Don't know how to get notified when people respond to my posts...I must've have not clicked a button to be emailed.

You can't. There is no notification feature on Fodors. You need to look in now and then and click on your screen name to see new activity.
