HELP!!LEAVE IN 5 days no REAL ITENERIARY YET
So,, I posted yesterday and need help. Life has been crazy and we have officially run out of time. we leave on the 5/23 - 6/7 and then 6/7 - 6/15 London. Fly into Salzburg on 23rd and then want to go to Rome after. Everyone has suggested seeing venice and we found good fare for $152 Euros to Rome out of Venice. Is it better to fly/drive? Is a week enough for a skim of Rome/Pompeii/Capri? HELP!!! we are in panic mode. We have been all over and our kids are good travelers,,,just no plan as of right now.
Set in Stone: Arrive 5/24 into salzburg via SFO...TIRED Leave:6/7/08 back to London.. out of Salzburg or Rome????? AAAAAHHHHHHHHH. |
Just to make this clear:
Are you flying in Salzburg on the 23 or the 24? I'm not really an Italy expert but I don't think that doing Capri is really a good idea in your time frame. I guess you could do something like: Salzburg - 3 days (24 to 26) Munich - 2 days (27 and 28) Venice - 2 days (29 and 30) Florence - 2 days (31 and 1) Rome - 3 days (2 to 4) Naples and Pompeii - 2 days (5 and 6) back to Rome for the 7th for your flight to London Flying from Salzburg to London makes absolutely no sense since you want to go South. |
Sorry. Yes leaving from San Francisco on 23rd arrive in Salzburg on 24th...Very tired. originally we were going to make a big loop hence the salzburg thing. But have re-thought it to fly out of Rome.
I think we want to stick to salzburg/Munich 5 days Venice 1 day and then fly to rome Rome 7 days to include pompeii/capri Rent car in salzburg and leave in Venice. No car in rome at all. |
Then what is your question?
|
Do you have your hotels?
|
Flying Venice to Rome makes no sense. By the time you trek back and forth to airports the train is just as fast, a lot more comfortable - and not subject to all the delays and problems of air travel.
|
I would definately take the train.
As a matter of fact - I would leave the car in Salzburg period. Take the train Salzburg to Venice -if you must stay one night stay - then go onto Rome via the train. Having said that - I would spend 5 nights in Salzburg. Salzburg to Venice 2 nights Venice Venice to Florence 4 nights Remaining time IN Rome. |
Maybe you should look for hotels first before setting your itinerary in stone, esp for Venice, unless you have a very generous budget for hotels.
