Help in Rome need to book amalfi

Hi guys,
Writing from Rome after a long 27 day trip in Europe and trying to figure out where to book in amalfi from the 27th to may 1st. I cannot understand which towns are best from praiano to minori to maiori to positano To amalfi to Salerno to sorrento. We are both 23 working on a budget of 80 us dollars MAx a night preferably less. We are both confused in picking a destination. We are using airbnb because they seem to have the most competitive rates. Tomorrow we leave to see the vatican afterwards we will pick up luggage and head to the train station for amalfi. So I need to book ASAP. I have many choices in amalfi it is just difficult positioning our place on the coast.
Also any other restaurant/beach recommendations are welcome
Thank you so much
S&B

We are at the point where we just want to relax on a beach anywhere warm so we can swim and lay out.

I would be surprised if you find anything for that price in Amalfi at all($80 is only 60€). Sorrento is a bigger town and would probably have some budget rooms. You might see what kind of rate you can get at Ulysses.

There a hostel in Positano if you don't mind a dorm situation. Their double room is over your budget.

Salerno is at the far end and is similar to Sorrento (bigger/busier). Amalfi and Positano are the bigger towns in between with Praiano, Maiori and Minori being smaller.

If you are planning to sightsee, Sorrento has the easiest transport links (trains/buses/ferries). If you are just wanting to chill at a beach, then one of the towns between Sorrento/Salerno. Salerno might have some cheap beach options, but isn't as attractive as the other towns.

Since your budget is low, you might look at taking the bus from Rome to Sorrento as it's much cheaper than the train (under 20€). Marozzi departs from Rome's Tiburtina station (it's on the metro) on the 27th at 7am or 3pm.

Thank you for your quick response. In our early posts you were very helpful too it is much appreciated. We have changed the max to 100 in hopes that we will find a better more central place.

In Sorrento, try IL NIDO. It's in the hilly part of Sorrento, but I think they offer a shuttle into town. I just checked some random dates in early May, and a double with breakfast is running E100. The hotel has a gorgeous view of the Bay of Naples.

Also- check out B&Bs in Atrani, which is just below the town of Amalfi. Amalfi is about 20 min. by boat to Positano. Atrani has a very nice beach! You can take a SITA bus between Amalfi and Positano. Good luck!

I've stayed in the little towns just North of Sorrento and did not find them bad at all: piano di Sorrento, Sant'Agnello, etc. Just stay off the main drag with all the vespas and check the distance to the train stations. Honestly, I've no idea of their quality, but saw a little place called Hotel Esperidi Resort that might work for you. You could always book something for just one night in case it wasn't too good.

Sometimes some of the nicer hotels in Sant'Agnello have specials. It is only about a twenty minute walk into Sorrento. I stayed once several years ago at the Parco Del Sol and it was very, very nice then. They have a special right now of $84.00. Do check them out. You might call them directly. There are several other decent looking hotels near there with the same rates right now, but the only one I actually checked was booked. Don't know if any of the pools are open yet either - doubt it. The best of luck to you.

I recommend Maiori. The streets there are more wide and you can move easier and the prices are bit more lower. You can eat for cheap.
