We stayed at the hotel des Balcons with our kids of 5 & 9 July, 2001. We had a big room with plenty of space to move around. There were no AC but we didn't need it at that time. We paid @ $80/day.

We stayed at a Novotel in Paris with our two children. Its not in the area you want but I'm fairly sure they have more than one in Paris

Hotel du Danube (http://www.hotel-danube.com/index-gb.htm) has a two-bedroom "apartment"/suite for about US$175 per night. The location is great and the hotel has received many good reviews from others here. Actually, the reviews have been so good that I chose to stay there during my trip in November.
