help! I can't remember the name of a restaurant

We ate at this bistro in St-Germain-des-Prs which only served one thing, salad, steak w/green peppercorn sauce and pomme frite. It was more locals than tourists and was delicious. I'm trying to recommend it a friend, but can't for the life of me remember the name of it. Thought anyone?

Thanks,

Mitch

Hello, it is Relais Entrecote (sp). It is across the street from Zinc and around the corner from Flore. I ate there twice on my last trip and enjoyed it so much! I am looking forward to enjoying it again in May

How about the prices? I will be in Paris in july, toward the end of my European trip, and by then my pockets will be almost empty....This restaurant will be pretty close to Bonaparte, my hotel..

Hi Kismet,
If the Relais Entrecote is anything like Le Petit Zinc or Cafe' Flore, you can't afford it.

Exit from the hotel and go left to Place St. Sulpice (1st street).

Go Left.

Admire the church as you go to Rue des Canettes (first street).

Go left. On des Cannettes and the cross street Rue Guisarde, and it's cross street, Rue Princesse are more restaurants than you will be able to sample in a month.

Prices from "very cheap" to "pricey". If the vietnamese place on the left side of Rue Guisarde as you enter it is still there, don't bother.

Try Bistrot de la Grille at the end of the street on the right.

That's it! Le Relais de Venise (Entrecote)

Thanks so much, and I highly recommend it.

Here's the address and correct name:

Le Relais de l'Entrecote
20 rue Saint-Benoit

It's about $17 for dinner.

Which is not far from my favorite neighborhood bistro, Le Petit St-Benoit, 4 rue St-Benoit!

I like Bistro de la Grille, also, Ira, but the steak place sounds fun (I have such trouble making up my mind!)

They have a sister restaurant at 15,rue marbeuf in the 8th arr.. They rank 17 for food in Zagat (quite high really, given the reasonable price). The Relaise de Venise, 271, bd Pereire in the 17th near Porte Maillot, rates an 18 and as I recall, is a bit more expensive.
