Have you tried contacting the student council at the Uni? All European unis maintain strong student organisations to help the newbie.

Put <CROUS> into Google and you will get a feed to the facility which assists with accommodation at the uni.

..... or <www.crous-paris.fr> which is the internet portal for student affairs.

You would need a roommate and space would be pretty tight, at that. 400 euros is about as low as Paris monthly rent gets, tiny and difficult to find at that price - even long term. You could Google Craig's list Paris and offer plant and/or animal sitting services and money. Good luck!

as Dave says 250 euro isn't likely anywhere in Paris, and I'd guess impossible in the center. Do contact the university and ask for help re room mates and student housing.

My niece is there now for the spring semester and she did not have housing arranged before arriving. She met 3 other girls in the program and the 4 of them found an apartment (relatively easily). I believe the program they're with provided them with resources and lots of information. Good luck!

Maybe I'm math challenged. You're looking for an apartment -- by yourself -- for about 8 euro per day?

Try St. Germain de Pres. It's a bit cheaper than around the Sorbonne.

the above must be a joke -- yeah, a student is going to get an apt. in St Germain for 250 euro or less a month, and St Germain is cheaper than around the Sorbonne. ha ha ha

The Sorbonne is not one location or one building, and students do NOT have to live right next to it. Classes can be held in a variety of places in Paris. I've known some interns and students who maybe could afford a single room in a rooming house out in the 12th or some place far out or something like that for about that rate. YOu can't limit yourself to wanting an apt. right around the Sorbonne, that isn't remotely realistic.
