Help, hotel in Positano?
I will be in Positano for 4 nights in June. I have to decide between the following hotels: Le Agavi, Hotel Murat, Covo de Saraceni and Buca de Bacco. Can anyone reccommend any of theses (or not)? Le Sirenure and San Pietro are too expensive and La Fenice is sold out. THese hotels may even be sold out but your comments are very much needed. This is a once in a lifetime trip for us. Thanks

Candace, I would suggest the Murat or
the Covo Saraceni since both are down the hill and closer to the action. I was just there and loved the Casa Albertina but it is a good hike up the hill and not for everyone. Good luck.

Candace,

The Palazzo Murat looks beautiful on the website, but I have read in various guides (including concierge.com) that the new sections are not nearly as nice as the older ones. Also, I think there is a big difference between rooms with a view of the sea, and those that overlook the garden - the garden sounds much more ordinary, at which point the price starts to seem rather high.

Best,
Jordanna

All good choices for different reasons. I think I would choose Murat or Buca di Baccco which is quite downhill as well. Another highly receommended one (but I haven't stayed there) is Villa Rosa across the street from the Sirenuse. Don't know anything about Covo de Saraceni.

Have you checked the Villa Franca. I've seen it listed in numerous postings and understand it to be up there with the other hotels mentioned.

Thanks for all your speedy advise. It looks like Murat will be the hotel. They have rooms available in the "new" section. Has anyone stayed in this section? Do rooms have sea views/balconies etc? Also I can stay at Le Agavi but noone commented on it except that it was up a hill. Is it really far up a hill? How long is the walk to town? Also Le Agavi is a 5 star and Murat is a 4. Both are around the same price $250. Thanks. This forum is cool.
