help getting from edinburgh to Rosslyn chapel

My family of 3 will be in Edinburgh for 3 nights from Jul 30 to August 2. Aside from Edinburgh, we are planning to visit Rosslyn chapel, can you please advise me how to get there without joining a bus tour from Edinburgh? Thanks.

There are public buses from Edinburgh to Rosslyn Chapel, for details, please check: www.rosslynchapel.org.uk, under location section.

Thanks a lot! I was reading RS Great Britain guide last night and he described the transportation options, too.

Definitely take a bus. We asked our B&B owner about the best way to get to Rosslin and he called us a cab. It cost around $30. For the return trip to Edinburgh we took the bus which ran about $3 each. It is worth a visit but be aware that there is scaffolding on much of the exterior.

I took a day tour with Timberbush Tours. It left from the base of the Edinburgh Castle about 9:45AM, went first to Rosslyn, then stopped for lunch at Pebbles in the Borders, and finished with a tour of Glenkinchie Distillery.

The Borders were so beautiful and I had such a good time, that when we returned, I signed up for a different tour for the next day.
