help get me to Florence if the trains strike
I read there is a strike for plane train and boat on Sept 6-7. I was to go to Florence from Rome by train---have the reservations---but need a back up plan. I have a car in Florence--would get a car in Rome and drive to Florence but have found on other trips that to get a car---need a automatic--that has not been reserved is almost inpossible. I looked at tours but that would be 150E each and that is too much. Can't find a site for a bus in English so I can read it.
Has anyone gone from Rome to Florence other then train or car. Thanks for your help |
Hi M,
Why not reserve a car for pick up in Rome? If the trains are running and you don't need it, I don't think there is a problem with canceling. |
Hi M,
There is a bus from Rome to Siena and another bus from Siena to Florence. See http://www.senabus.it/ and http://www.sita-on-line.it/ You can also take the SITA bus direct from Rome to Florence, click "Veneto" after "Orari". ((I)) |
Thank you for the site--I am trying to figure it out. I will check the car rental for cancellation fee also. Thank you for your answers.

I think this is the page that Ira means:
http://www.sita-on-line.it/sita-vene.../Orari-R-Z.htm It's a bus from Rome to Zagreb, so I would think it would be wise to reserve in advance if you only want to go from Rome to Florence. |
