Help for italy trip
Hi, my boyfriend and I (a young couple) are planing a 8 day trip to Italy next month (march). We will go to venice first, then we would like to visit Florance and rome. But we don't know how to divide our time. Since we have never been to Italy ... one trip of the three places is where we wish to go and we want to see as much as possible in this time frame. Please advise about a doable itinerary.
thanks, li |
An 8-day trip travel time included or 8 full days in Italy?
Seeing Venice, Florence and Rome is a bit much in 8 days, but this depends on your cultural interests. If it was for me, I would try to get an open jaw ticket arriving in Venice, staying there 3 full days. Then I would go to Rome for the rest of the holiday (4 or 5 days?), eventually hopping of the train to see the Florence city center if really 'necessary', but continuing to Rome the same day. But it's up to you to decide. |
Have you already booked your flight?
Where are you flyinjg into and flying home from? |
I would spend three nights in Venice since you will be tired from the trip, take an early train to Florence and spend two nights and spend the last three nights in Rome. You should be able to fly out of Rome for about the same cost as a round trip ticket from Venice plus a train ride back.

Hi li,
Without know all your specifics, what you like to do ect., I'll take a stab at your question for itinerary suggetions. 3 nights Venice 2 Florence 3 Rome If it were me, I and I had 8 only nights I would just divide it between Venice and Rome 4 nights each. You said you want to start in Venice, is this where you would arrive and need to depart from too, or can you depart from Rome? Hope this helps and good luck. |
Hi Li,
I would divide the time equally between Venice and Florence. You can fly into one and out the other for about the same price as RT. Enjoy your trip. |
I agree with the 3-2-3
3 night Venice 2 nights Florence 3 nights Rome The train between all three cities is a very easy trip. Of course it depends on your likes and priorities. Each city is unique. Romance and mood, art history. |
