Help: Florence airport 7:30 a.m.

We have a 7:30 a.m. flight out of Florence airport and we are trying to figure out where to stay our last night in Italy. We'll have a rented car.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to reach the airport from say Chianti region or should we forget that idea and stay in Florence. Or, maybe you have a place you can recommend that was convenient to the airport and enjoyable too.

Thanks!

I can't tell you how far, for ex., it would take from Chianti region to FIR. But the airport is small and very close to town - maybe 15-20 min by taxi. We had a 7 am flight out of there last year and stayed in the city center. Had absolutely no problem getting to airport. You don't say whether you would have already visited Florence during the trip. If not, stay in the city and see what you can.

Thank you for your information! Our itinerary is to stay in Florence during the first part of our trip, so we thought we could stay somewhere outside of Florence on our last night.

Hi 4m,

I make it a point to stay the last night in the city from which I am departing.

There is just too much that can go wrong if you have to travel for an hour or more, especially for a 7:30 flt.

In October, we will be staying near the Duomo, and have a 7 AM flight from FLR (to Frankfort) on a Sunday morning. I plan to arrange for a taxi to take us to the airport.

Any advice as to timing? How early should we get to the airport? Thanks ((*))

allow 25 minutes for getting to the airport, and 1 hour of airport time, which will probably be a total amount of time too much, but safe.
