Help - do I need a hotel with AC in Munich 1st week in Sept.

I do not want to sleep in a hot hotel and was worried if the weather got warm and we didn't have AC it would not be fun. But has I search for a hotel, the choice is limited for a hotel with AC. We would like to stay close to Marienplatz but not near the train station for $200 - $250/night. Anyone stayed in a hotel with AC with that criteria. Thanks for your help..

LOL, highs during the day should be around 20C (mid 60F), nightly lows 5C to 15C (40-60F). Chances are, you'll want to switch on the heating at night.

FIRST week of september can as well be 90F during the day and 75F at night.
Chances are, you simply can't tell in advance.

You can tell with at least a 90% probability which is good enough.

We were in Munich the end of the first week in September, 2009. Cool mornings and nights. Light weight jackets or sweaters. Warm in the afternoon. However, we like it cool at night speeping and take no chances that we will encounter the 10%. We do A/C. Richard

Opening the windows for a while in the evening and letting fresh air in should be enough. No need to waste energy on air condition if you have air of the same temperature outside for free.

Leave the windows open with shutters/curtains shut when you are out.
Just never occurs to me to ask about air conditioning..... only use it in extremis...nasty stuff, leaves you dried out and wastes resources.

if travelers prefer A/C it is their choice.
We were in Munich second week in Sept last year and it was a bit cooler than logos suggested. But,one never knows.
Sorry, cannot recommend a hotel ( we stayed in an apt);
try Search function.

Just use www.hrs.com and under the amenities section, click on AC to find a hotel that has this.

There is a reason though why hotels here usually don't have AC and that is because it usually isn't needed. People just open their windows. I know you can't open windows in the US, but you can here.

Thanks for all your replies. There is a wealth of info from fodorites. All the hotels I like have no ac, so I'm just going to go with it and think positively the weather will be in the avg.
