Help Choosing Between Hotels in Venice
We have found availability for the following hotels for our 5 nights in Venice this October, and would greatly appreciate any comments anyone may be able to provide about any of them that might help us choose:
- Hotel Campiello standard double 170 E - Locanda (Casa) Arte double 140 E / 120 E cash - Locanda Art Deco double 135 E - Locanda Novo Venezia double 130 E - Locanda Casa Querini small double "Girasole" 110 E A quiet room is a big priority, so if anyone has any comments about noise level in any of these places, that would be a big help! Hotel Campiello seems to have a fair number of favourable reviews in a few places on the internet, and a handful for Locando Art Deco, but I haven't been able to find much about the others ... on the sole basis of the room pictures on the hotel website, I'm kind of leaning towards Casa Arte, but I know those can be quite deceiving. Otherwise, I may go for the Campiello just because there seems to more info about it, although it is slightly stretching the budget we set for Venice accommodations. As you can see, I am somewhat conflicted, so comments are appreciated! |

HI
I don't know about the others, but the Art Deco, while it gets much praise, doesn't have an elevator. I don't have any info on the others, but I've read nothing bad about the Art Deco. A point was made here once that it is quieter since it is not on the Grand Canal. |
Isn't it weird that I'm looking for a double in a Venice hotel in October too, and none of those hotels ended up on my list. Your rates are good though, which site do you use?

Elaine, thanks for your comments about the Art Deco. That and the Campiello seem to be the ones I can find the most comments about on the internet. For some reason my husband has indicated that he just doesn't like the look of the Art Deco for some reason he can't articulate, so we've pretty much ruled that out (sometimes you just can't fight someone's gut feeling!).
Indigo, we didn't use a website to get those quotes. We contacted the hotels directly by email. |
let us know which you choose and how it works out.

we just got back from Venice and stayed at the Casa Rezzonico. Stunning decor, great service, gorgeous back garden, peacefully quiet, yet near everything, all for 130/night.

A second for Casa Rezzonico. We REALLY liked that place.
