Help! CDW on rental car in Ireland

Going to Ireland in 2 weeks. Using Hertz for car rental. Price includes CDW but not vandelism and theft. Want to refuse their CDW and use my World Points MasterCharge which covers CDW plus vandelism and theft, no deductible, AT NO EXTRA CHARGE to me! Can save $400 by not accepting Hertz CDW. Am I at risk ?

Are you sure your Master Card coverage is valid in Ireland?? Ireland is an exception clause spelled out in many cc insurance plans . . .

Yes---I double checked with MC and Hertz. World card covers CDW in Ireland,

Hi H,

Get a copy of the insurance policy from MC.

If it says that you are covered in Ireland, then you are covered.

However, It's my experience that, because Ireland requires CDW, the CC companies don't provide coverage.

Halbaby, You are right Yoour world MC does more than Hertz's CDW. You'll be just fine. Thats why they have the provision under your card . Namely to cover the CDW if you refuse Hertz's coverage Save your Euros and Buy a few extra JARS.
