While fodors is great, I have seen good reliable info on rentals on www.slowtravel.com Good luck! You may have to register and select a password, but it's worth it. I used both slow travel and fodors web-sites to plan our first trip to Italy and received valuable info on both sites! Suzy Kane has a good web-site also...I can't remember what her web-site is called but she goes on slow travel a lot as well. I used her web-site guide to learn how to buy train tickets on trenitalia.

From one Aussie to another!! We have used Cottages and Castles, based in Melbourne to stay in France. They have a great web site and have properties in France,Italy and Great Britain. You should find what you are lookng for and have a fabulous time!!

G'day Dancer, expat Adelaide girl here. Have not used apartments in Paris and Italy but we stayed in Scala house in London. You can google their website.

This Australian and wife were well looked after by Locaflat:
http://www.locaflat.com/

They were very patient with my questions before we went and were efficient when we arrived. The apartment in rue de Pondicherry was dark, adequately furnished, clean and beautifully located - E Tower close by, good supermarket close, 100m to Metro and the Locaflat office within 200m for checking in and out.

In Rome we had good service from www.guestintaly.com
In Florence our apartment came from www.domusintl.com who looked after us well
Our Tuscany apartment came courtesy of www.labellatoscana.net
For Venice www.veniceapartment.com were also excellent, esp. when we had trouble with the hot water heater.

Hope this helps.

Hi dancer, I recently contacted Tuscan Vacations in Sydney. I can't remember here name but she will send you a detailed brox if you want Tuscany or Amalfi. She was very helpful with other info as well. They had some apartments that were quite affordable. Good luck.
