Help allocating time b/n Barcelona & Paris

Hi guys,

I have total of 6 days and 6 nights to allocate between Barcelona & Paris.

As I would be seeing other places in Spain as well & I've heard I need to give more time to Paris, would you recommend to cut down Barcelona stay to 2 days & 2 nights and give Paris 4 days & 4 nights?

Or 3 days each works fine..?

I know some of you may be tempted to say just spend 6 days in Barcelona & take day trips around. But in my scheme of things, I have to do both. Just to let you know

I'd look for two more days to trim from your elsewhere in Spain plans to allow you to do 4 in each, knowing from your other posts that you need to factor in transportation.

hi rt,

>As I would be seeing other places in Spain as well ...<

Where, what?

As it stands now, it is a foolish idea.

There is one "correct" answer, it is just personal opinion and personal preference for a city and the activities and sites and culture in it. Same for the idea that you must spend a certain number of days in Paris if you yourself didn't naturally want to do that.

Since you personally seem to have no opinion or preference, might as well just split them 3/3, as there can be no obvious correct answer.

I am not a big fan of Barcelona, aside from Gaudi's architecture, and you can certainly see that in two days. If you are spending time elsewhere in Spain, I would put the emphasis on Paris, which rates as much time as possible. If you take the night train (see your other thread), you lose minimal time to transit.

Barcelona is a nice city, but there's only one Paris.

My longest visit to Paris (I've been over a dozen times) wss for 2 weeks, and I barely scratched the surface.

I'd go back in a heartbeat. You know what my vote would be.

uhoh_busted, good idea! Yes I am trying to shave off 1 day from Granada (I am there for 3 days). I am traveling with group of friends and I am already making lot of tweaks to merge solo time & travel together. Going to Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, Cordoba, Seville, Granada, Barcelona ofcourse.

ira, to each his own. Guess for my pace of travel & other constraints, this is all I have in terms of time. I read your trip reports time and again & wish all had the luxury of extended travel at their disposal.
