HELP!!! Alhambra has stopped selling advanced tickets.

I'm going in October, but they've stopped selling any advanced tickets past July 31. Any suggestions on how to get my tickets. I don't want to go to Granada and not get into the palace.

Are you sure they have stopped the sale of all advanced tickets, or are they only sold a certain amount of time ahead?

They've stopped selling any tickets past July 31. The contract with BVAA that sells the tickets ends on July 31st so until new contracts are signed no more advanced tickets.

When I went a couple of years ago, I'd left it too late to prebook (it was fully booked) and it was Easter Week so I thought 'no chance'. However, my hotel got me tickets with only a 1 euro per ticket additional charge. Most if not all hotels can secure you tickets in this way so I really wouldn't panic.

Okay, yikes! We are going next week (Easter week!) and I didn't know you had to buy tickets in advance! Good to know about the hotel. Maybe I will e-mail them. But where is the site where you can buy them?

We got tickets for October through our hotel. E-mail and ask them.
I kind of suspect that there is a number of tickets they keep for hotels, tourist agencies etc.

You could also try booking a night or two at the Parador that part of Alhambra.

We just got back, we did book our tickets ahead of time (months) and some time slots were already sold out back in January. We met some people who tried to book on line the week before and the only time slot open was 6pm. BUT, when we got there at 8:30, there was NO line for the same day tickets. This was last week. So I suppose it depends on when you go. Given the way the advance sale tickets seem to be sold out, I figured it would be mobbed, but it was definitly not.

We were just there and went with an American friend ( who is a tour guide) who has lived nearby in Spain for 18 years. We bought then in advance...no problem.

Loved the gardens the best. They do have a pretty horrible system for getting in now ( our friend who has been there many, many times was amazed and said it was the worst system he has ever seen).

It was a Monday and not crowded, but after looong wait to get in ( we HAD tickets) it was not bad.
