If you don't get many replies, I would suggest you re-post with something more descriptive in the title like "Train and hotel info needed for Baumholder Germany". Some people do not even look at posts unless the title gives them an indication of what you're asking.

Just an FYI

You can do an itinerary search of the German rail line at the following web site:

Enjoy your travels. Peace. :)>-

Can you talk to your fiance and see if he has any information that could help? Have you done yahoo or google searches on those cities to see if that can get you started?

If all else fails, as long as you have a plane ticket, a passport, and money... you can figure it out as you go. If you have a hotel reservation for that first night in Frankfurt (?) the front desk should be able to direct you to the train station.

If you are spending the night in Frankfurt - from the Hauptbahnhof you will catch the train to Idar-Oberstein. From there you can take a bus or taxi to Baumholder. If you are spending only a few nights in Baumholder and not the full 13 days I would try one of these two hotels where you can get a single for less than 38 Euro.

Hotel Zum Stern
Ausweilerstraße 2
55774 Baumholder
Tel - 06783/5877
Email: [email protected]
Internet: http://www.zum-stern-baumholder.de

Hotel Westrich
Reichenbacher Straße 1
55774 Baumholder
Tel -06783/5872
Email: [email protected]
Internet: http://www.hotel-westrich.de

If you will be spending the entire time in the Baumholder area - I would suggest you check into renting an apartment (Ferienwohnung) - especially if you are on a tight budget. Unless you have a good reason for spending the night in Frankfurt I would recommend traveling direct to Baumholder the first day in country. If you can't meet your fiancee until the second day - it will give you some time to discover what little there is to discover in Baumholder.

It's been a few years since I spent time in Baumholder but I would be glad to assist you further if you need the help. Ben

Totallywicked. After all the advice you have received on Feb. 16th at 9:39pm you post "help".

LOL, I guess you do need help!

janis Feb 16th, 2005 07:00 PM

totallywicked has started 3 threads and topped all three of them @ 9:39/9:40 with "help" as the only message. Apparently she didn't read any of the advice/info she already received (some of it quite detailed considering the title) . . . . .

LoveItaly Feb 16th, 2005 07:05 PM

janis, OK, well there is no help for her is there. A "T"?

rex Feb 16th, 2005 07:56 PM

Where are those Fodor's editors when we need them? They at least have the e-mail address of "totallywicked" and could step in and ask - - what is it that you do nto get about using this website?

Good question Rex. And now for a good answer.
