Heathrow -- Where does the tube leave you?

We're taking the tube from London to Heathrow to pick up a rental car. How far is it from the Heathrow tube station to the Hertz counter? Does anyone know at what terminal Hertz is located?

All Heathrow car rental lots are off-site, on North Terminal Road. You get off at the Heathrow T1,2,3 station, follow the signs to any one of the terminals, find your way to the car rental shuttles and take the Hertz shuttle bus to their lot. In T3, the rental shuttles are to the right of the left luggage.

There is a Hertz counter in every terminal.

Along the same lines... which terminal, 1, 2, 3 or 4, has the shortest walk from the underground station at Heathrow to the arrivals area?

I'm most familiar with T4 and it seems like the walk is an easy one. Is it the same, or longer/shorter than T1, T2 or T3?

Because of contruction, the Tube does not stop at Terminal 4 and will not until sometime in 2006. You can find this info at the comprehensive Heathrow site.
