Heathrow to Eurostar St. Pancras Station
 

We are 1st time travellers to London arriving at Terminal 5 and taking the Eurostar to Paris. Need help on how to get to Eurostar St. Pancras Station from Heathrow. I think we have to take the tube but can we access it from Terminal 5 or do we go to different terminal. If anybody can give us directions on how to get to St. Pancras from Terminal 5, that would be great!

If it were me, from Heathrow , I'd book Justairports private car shuttle service. It beats taking the Express and a taxi from Paddington to St Pancras. Actually it is less expensive too. It won't be cheaper than the tube but it will be hassle free

You can take the Piccadilly Line all the way from T5 to Kings Cross-St Pancras.

If I was you I wouldn't bother with the Eurostar and just fly to Paris from LHR.

This will avoid a one hour trip to St Pancras and may also avoid you having to pass through UK immigration and collecting of luggage - which will take another hour.

We actually did have an original flight booked thru BA from Heathrow to Paris but they went on strike and cancelled our flight. So we ended up booking through Eurostar.

@ Avalon, we arrive at 11 am on terminal 5 and our Eurostar trip to Paris does not leave until 15:02 so we I think we have enough time..but just in case, how much do you think will Justairports private shuttle cost us? and with the taxi, how much time will it take to St. Pancras?

RM67, thanks for your reply. I was looking at the London Underground Map and by taking the Picadilly Line, is it still a long walk to the St Pancras Station?? We have 2 luggages with wheels.

LHR to St Pancras , is 29 GBP.

I'm just guessing but as I recall from S Ken to King's Cross -St Pancras the taxi fare was around 15 gbp, that with at least 8 gbp , probably more for the tube. You are not saving that much money

Why didn't you book Air France to Paris?

Thought it would be nice to try the train for a change. Just want to make sure we knew how to get to the station from Heathrow. Looks like we will try the tube Picadilly line to Pancras station. Thanks for all your input. Makes me feel more comfortable now getting into London...and connecting with
Eurostar. Will be off to London tomorrow.

The question was about transportation from LHR to St. Pancras in order to board the train to Paris. He/she did NOT ask your opinions about flights. Have a grand time.

You should be okay...a tad over an hour to get from Heathrow to St. Pancras...not a terrible walk and your luggage is on wheels.....the only reservation I have is that going through UK immigration and customs can be hit or miss.....what if the plane arrives a bit late and there are long queues at immigration? Not trying to scare you or anything like that...the tube is probably the most reliable and since the train starts at Terminal 5, no worry about seats and it is a one train ride.

I will be taking a flight into Heathrow and then taking the underground to King'sCross/St.Pancras to ride Eurostar to Brussels (and then on to Eindhoven to see my grandson). I know I could fly over, straight to Eindhoven through Ryanair, but I am want to ride the train for a change, and visit Brussels (never been there, never rode Eurostar). I am flying back, though, it is a lot faster!

The ride in the underground will probably take me sort of 40 min. That is the cheapest way and maybe faster then taking the cab (London traffic). I have 3 1/2 hrs to go from Heathrow to St.Pancras, and I think it is plenty of time.

xyz123 Thank you for your thoughts...I sure hope we get there on time or at least early. We have a direct flight to Heathrow. Great to know the train starts at T5...which I didn't know and worried me at first.

Brazilnut, I will try to remember to post how it went once we get there. We do proceed back to London in two days and then to Rome afterwards.

Viviandahling - We have done this route last year...
From LHR we took the Picadilly line to Russell Square.
Exiting the tube station you walk across the road and proceed down Marchmont street. Keep going until you either reach Euston road or turn right into Leigh street then left into Judd until you reach Euston Road. Take the pedestrian crossing across Euston Road and turn right down to St. Pancrass.
It's easy, interesting, and as long as you are not in panic mode because you're running late, will find this short walk welcoming after sitting on an aircraft! Look at your London map and trace my route, then see if it suits you. All it costs is the tube into London.

Tod, did you mean to say that the tube does not stop at the Pancras Station? That the closest tube stop is at Russell Square? How long does that walk take?

The Piccadilly Line runs directly from Heathrow to Kings Cross/St Pancras. The only walking required is at each end. For some reason, Tod got off at Russell Square and walked part of the way, but that is not necessary and would take longer.

It's a fairly long walk from the tube exit to Eurostar departures - but there are lifts to get you up to the level of the terminal, and it's a flat walk from there. With wheeled luggage you'll be fine.

PS - Kings Cross tube serves St Pancras - you won't have a walk outdoors 'between stations' as such. The tube will bring you to the right station - albeit with a bit of a trek round the station complex.

Got ya Chartley! Guess we could do what Tod says if we had time to kill. But I think I would rather go straight to Eurostar departure area....am excited to see all but not messing with the time and all.
