heathrow time needed
looking at flights next April from PHX to London on BA and then catch a BA flight to Nice - about 2 hours between flights.
I wouldn't do this in Paris but never connected in London Suggestions if 2 hrs is enough or need more thank you |
If it is one ticket don't worry about it.
Your bags will be checked all the way through and you don't change terminals. If you miss the connection they'll put you on the next available flight. If you are booking separate tickets for some reason . . . don't |
'they'll put you on the next available flight."
If there are seats... |
If there's no seat it's not available - as janisj said "the next available"
|
Do this ONLY if it's one ticket (so you are protected from being a now show) and you have a plane landing early in the am. If later in the day - or two tickets - this is NOT enough time.
Be sure the arrival and departure flights are in the same terminal. If they are different terminals then 2 hours is probably NOT enough. I have flown from Switz to NYC through Heathrow - airside only but two different terminals and we had 2.5 hours. We landed early and managed to make the connection (you don't go through immigration but do go through security again) and only by jogging the whole way with our carry-ons. By the time we got to the NYC flight they were getting near closing boarding. |
BA flights to Nice, and from Phoenix, use T5: minimum international-to-international connect time at T5 is 60 minutes. There should be no problem, though you obviously have to go through security again at T5. We don't trust ANY foreign security checks.
If these are two separate bookings, beg BA now to consolidate them onto one PNR. If BA are unhelpful, try to get the clerk at Phoenix anyway to book your bags through to Nice. |
