Heathrow Showers

Has anybody used those showers?

I'm gonna be stuck there for a whole day after a long transatlantic flight, waiting to catch my next one.

What's the "logistics"? Where can I find those showers? Are there towels to "rent"? How much does this cost? Is it safe? Well organized? Where do you keep you hand-bag/belongings while showering?

Thanks.

Ron,
The only showers I am familiar with are in the Admirals Club and the BA 1st clss lounge where everything is free. They are very nice (understatement). If there are more public showers, I am unfamiliar with them. Hope someone else can add to this information.

I used Heathrow shower facilities quite a while ago. Since then, the airport was enlarged, modernized, and more terminals were added. By the time, however ( it was 1990), there was a reasonably large shower room, all for myself. Towels were provided, at no extra cost. I can't recall how much it cost, say around 1 or 2 British Pounds.

S

You'll find all the information you need at:

http://www.baa.co.uk/main/airports/heathrow/terminal_information/terminal_3/facilities_page.html

I hope it helps,

S

We used them last year. About 3 or 4 pounds each and worth every penny. You get your own room with a shower, toilet, sink and bench. You get a big towel and shampoo and shower gel. They told us we could take as long as we wanted. It was divine!

looks like you have to be a member before you can use the showers.

MEMBER?

From the web site I understand that there IS some membership of something needed to use some facilities, somewhere....

BUT I know Heathrow has showers for the public, even if they charge some money.

So, I guess more info needed about this subject, from people with some experience.

Thanks, RON.

I didn't use them because my layover was short, but saw signs for public showers with towels available to rent across from some women's bathroom somewhere in Heathrow (had to be either Terminal 4 or 1).
