Heathrow hotel

My brother, his wife and their 4 children ages 14 to 7 will fly from Dallas to Heathrow and 12 hours later leave Heathrow to fly to Africa. I am looking for a hotel very close to Heathrow where they can store their carry on bags, shower and then take the underground into London. The Hilton is too expensive--they require 3 rooms for the 6 of them at 245 British pounds per room. I would like to find them a hotel that has a shuttle or is close enough to walk. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Check the Heathrow Holiday Inn. It's nice, affordable and they have a van that they will take you to the airport in.

Hey Cindy: I just looked up Grasshopper's suggestion. It looks great. I entered a date in Oct. just for a sample. It came back 55 GBP about $85.00 I am always looking for hotels near airports and this one is fairly new, too!
I am not sure about the hotel van---their website says you take the Hoppa which I have taken before but it isn't free---just convenient.
Thanks for asking your question. I learned from it too!!
Your brother wouldn't happen to be a missionary in Africa would he? Just wondering.
Thanks, Grasshopper and Debbie, for your help. I've faxed the Holiday Inn for availability and price information. And yes, my brother and his wife are going to Africa as missionaries. Just curious, what made you ask that, Debbie.

Another vote for Holiday Inn near Heathrow. Stayed at the Sipson Way (newer than the other HI) in mid-July. They had specials at the time and I think it was 60 pounds per room. We had a double bed plus a sofa bed for two which was perfect for our family. As for transportation to the airport, there is no free shuttle. Hoppa costs 4 pounds per person and goes in a loop to several area hotels. For a party of 6, your brother would be better off with a cab. The hotel arranged it for us. It was a mini-van with an 8 pound flat charge for the very short trip.

Cindy: I don't really know exactly why I said that. I do have friends that have been missionaries to Ghana. Then when you said traveling with 4 children, I figured the trip must be important to transport them such a great distance.
Safe traveling to all!
