Heathrow Connect - Another Train?
I know about the Tube and Heathrow Express. I just found out about Heathrow Connect. Would it be better quicker and easier to use Connect to get to Bayswater via Earls Court?
Thanks in advance. Please don't tell me there's another train option. |
The Connect's route is from Heathrow to Paddington Station and the journey takes 25 minutes.

Sorry, I meant to add that the Heathrow Connect does not stop at Earl's Court.

It would be cheaper than the Heathrow Express but quicker than via Earl's Court on the tube.
However, via Earl's Court it is possible to minimise the amount of stairs you'd need to negotiate with luggage, if that's an issue (Piccadilly Line to Hammersmith, walk across the platform for an eastbound District Line to Earl's Court, wait on the same platform for a train to High St Kensington, wait on the same platform there for a Circle Line or Edgware Road train to Bayswater). It takes longer, but it's all on the one fare. At Paddington, you would have to go up and down stairs to get to the tube for Bayswater, if you don't want to splurge for a taxi. |
It runs twice an hour so the odds are that you'd be spending a lot of time waiting for one - thus negating the savings in time.
HOWEVER a different option would be to take the Heathrow Connect to Ealing Broadway then Central Line Tube to Queensway which is 200 yards from Bayswater. |
alanRow's idea makes a lot of sense, we used to live in this area and would have done what he suggests. The Heathrow Connect is more expensive than the tube though and you will still need to pay for the tube once you reach Ealing Broadway (two separate tickets, one for the train, one for the tube).
