Heathrow arrival report

Walked perhaps three miles and over 15 minutes from gate to immigration. Did the electronic face recognition passport deal in about 30 seconds. My report. Your experiences may vary.

We usually have a similar experience when flying in from the US although it usually takes about 10-15 minutes to go through the immigration machines.
Our last entry through LHR from FRA on Lufthansa landed us at the gate in front of immigration so it took us 3 minutes to get off the plane, 2 minutes to go through immigration and our bags came out as we got to baggage and we walked 5 minutes to Hilton T2.

Folks who have been there know there are motorized walkways that speed the journey. Although even at my age I can smoke most of the younger, obese kids who lay around poking on their phone.

Even with motorized walkways, you must walk really fast, considering that the record for running a mile is almost 3-3/4 minutes, which of course would be 11-1/4 minutes to run 3 miles, if they could keep that pace for 3 miles! Wish I could walk as fast as you do. 😁

Maybe I am trippen, but I do not remember any motorized walkways at Heathrow! It’s just a long, long walk. But indeed with the e-gates immigration is so much easier…

waiting for luggage is where one can get stuck!

I must remember there are some humorless and ironically-challenged folks here...next time I shall reset my Fitbit to gauge both distance, time and speed so there is an accurate readout for the analyticals. The point, which you seem to have missed. It takes much longer to walk the considerable distance from the gate to immigration than it takes to clear the kiosk. Much longer. Really, really long! Super long! So long I can hardly describe it without hyperbole...so long I must emphasize it with satire and exaggeration! It is a really long walk. But, I digress...

Ah, yes, the problems with reading something online without hearing the voice or seeing facial expressions. Your post didn't "sound" ironic, just plainly stated. It's been a long time since I flew into Heathrow.
I assure you that I have a good sense of humor! 😀
