No check-in at Heathrow, all flights are grounded

That's no BA flights at Heathrow. Unless things have changed, all other airlines are still flying there.

The news mentioned that it's only BA flights that are grounded due to the catering service dispute.

Several years ago when BA had a ground workers dispute, they loaded us on to a plane that they knew couldn't fly just to feed us lunch on the ground. We overheard one of the workers say, "why are they putting all these people on a plane they can't fly?". But the attendents kept denying that and insisted we would take off. But as soon as we were all on the plane, they served us all lunch on the ground then announced the flight was cancelled and got us off where we waited half a day. I wonder what kind of lies BA is telling the people caught at the last minute this time? In our case, they clearly didn't want to waste the food or give out 300 "free meal coupons", so they lied to us. I can deal with other things, but dishonesty is hard to swallow. If I have my way, that will be the last time I fly BA -- so far I've been successful in that wish.

This is different but I must say I found BA's service to be really good over a decade ago. The aircraft I was on had problems, but they kept us on the tarmac for over 4 hours at SFO. I'm sure they knew there was no way the plane would be repaired in time, but they kept trying everything possible. So we were stuck in a plane without air. There was only one flight daily out of SFO then and it was supposed to have taken off about 4:45 p.m. So passengers were very irritated because they were hungry too. The flight attendants opened the galley and it was just crazy with people pushing and shoving each other.

I believe the limit is 4 hours or more in order to ground a flight. Anyway, they were able to secure two hotels for us all to stay overnight and they included meal coupons. I got to stay at the Hyatt which I'd never have done if not for the grounding. That was good of them to accomodate us.

Since then we flew them and the service was not good as before. I realize this is true for other airlines, but I don't want to fly BA again.

Just saw on TV it's just BA flights that are grounded but other airlines ok.

According to CNN website they're resumingthe flights, and some left off already.
