Heads-up: Heathrow Express strikes
Workers on the Heathrow Express have called for 24 hour strikes beginning at noon on October 3, 10, and 12.
(info as of 9/22/03) |
Not a complete walkout, but as ASLEF tends to be the union for the train drivers, disruption may be substantial.

Remember: it's only the overground Heathrow Express. And it's part of a dispute between the train drivers'union and the airport, which operates the service.
It has no impact on the Tube to Heathrow, on any other trains, or on any other part of the airport's operation. And it would be illegal for the union - or any other union - to attempt to spread the dispute. |
We were going to book the Heathrow Express for October 11th. Would it be wise to find another means of transportation? We will be arriving on an overnight flight around midday.

Liza,
You don't have to book the Heathrow Express ahead of time, so when you get there, you can see if it is operating. If it is, fine. If not, you can take the Tube. It takes a little longer, but it is easy, so no big deal. |
