Whether the Pound is drawn on the Bank of Scotland or the Bank of England, it's the same thing (same exchange rate). One US Dollar currently buys 0.63 British Pounds, or more conventionally, one British Pound will buy US$1.59.

Have you tried your local banks? I live in a VERY small area -- yet by making some phone calls, my bank was able to order some pounds for me.

Good luck and enjoy Scotland!

Sorry -- I misread your question -- I left my leftover pounds with relatives in Scotland.

Marlena,
Your posting should really be posted as a new posting,
But since you asked, We are traveling there in June and found a good B&B, 4 stars with very good prices: The Lauderville. Here is their e-mail address
[email protected]
they have a web site but I don't have the address handy, ask them when you email them.
