Have you ever had a problem with a debit card?

parisnow, Right on -- 100% concur!!!

I stopped using my visa debit card and had it converted to just an ATM. One of the problems was being double charged. Restaurants are notorious. They swipe the card, then when you add the tip, they swipe it again. The both charges come out of your checking, and it is a pain in the a$$ getting it reposted.

Hotels are also bad to use your Visa debit card since most will put a hold on charges you might incur -- this too comes out of your checking account.
