Have you been to Diano Marina?

Looking for somewhere to go when staying with our daughter in London. Hoverland offers Diano Marina for 299 pounds all inclusive for 10 days. Is it too good to be true. Have been tempted for the last few years.
Thanks for any input.

Isn't that one of the Ligurian towns Annie Hawes writes about in her book, Extra Virgin? Or is there another Diano Marina? If it is the Italian site, check on whether there has been recent significant weather damage. If not, and the weather is promising, sounds like a lovely choice. Depending on the season & what you are looking for in the way of tourist amenities as you may be visiting in the off-season. You didn't say when you'd be going.

Claire
I read that book and loved it. Thanks for reminding me. It would be next October but have to book soon as it fills up quickly. I've never read of anyone actually going there on this site. I will do a search.

Hello Pierrette,

I stayed in Diano Marina for a week last December.

It's a nice little town - and makes a good base for visiting other places of interest along the Italian Riviera. Monte Carlo and the French Riviera resorts are also within easy range for day-trips.

I filled a week there very happily and can recommend it.
Let me know if I can be of more help ...

Steve

Hi Steve - So good to hear from someone who has actually been there. Did you see the hotel Neptune? We are a little skeptical of taking all our meals there but as the price is so good we could afford to take a few meals at other restaurants. We are going to London for one month from Canada and we like to take advantage of the proximity of other countries and also to give our daughter a break.
Pierrette

Hi - I don't remember seeing Hotel Neptune I'm afraid.

I can't help on restaurants as I was on half board and I was usually out of town for lunch. But I remember there were plenty ...

Steve
