Have a great trip Nancy!!!

Hi Nancy,

I know you are leaving for Italy really soon, in a week or so???

How are your plans going along, how does your itinerary look, are you going sans husband, and how is your general state of mind?

Retail therapy always helps, and, Italy is primo location for that. Have a WONDERFUL time!!

Beth

Me too-- very best wishes to you! I am off to Italy next year so for now I'm living vicariously through you! Good luck with the jewelry shopping!

I thought of you for another reason today-- my husband has us signed up for Italian classes, so I may seek you out for conversation. Your queries about Italian were my earliest awareness of the "long-awaited trip".

For now I'll have to say it in French: Bon Voyage!

Beth,
Just sent you a quick E.
thanks to you and everyone for the wishes!
We leave VT on Thursday, the 21st June, and drive to Newark airport, where we will be catching an evening plane for Rome.
When you all, on the east coast are waking up Friday am, think of us, in rome bleary-eyed,tired , but totally estatic and in awe!

Yes, husband is still coming, this will be a gift to the children.
I know we can pull it off, Italy will be such a distraction, and we will NOT talk about $$ or custody!
Then on the 2nd July, he returns to U.S, for business and my best friend flies over for beach week.

From rome, we will be doing Pisa daytrip for the children, via train, thanks to Paulo info.
Also, will do Tivoli Gardens, Villa Borghese tour, see if we can get into the Vatican senza too much hassling.
We will also be searching out a puppet show for the children, and visit the amusement park, one evening , also for the children.
That and walking around, taking in standard sites, is it for the rome week.
Then Formia, and since husband will only be at beach one full day with us, we will let children decide what to do with daddy.
But, sidetrips planned are Herculaneum ,Caserta(the "Star Wars" palace,) Cassino, hydrofoil to Procida or Ischia, drive up to sperlonga, and gaeta, and who knows what else.
I will be driving with the children to the Naples airport to pick up friend, and THAT in itself will be an adventure!
But many of you here have given me the confidence to do the drive.
I really don't know whether to Thank you , or Curse you! :-)
We love to see "things", but we are also great for "hanging out"
Some retail therapy is definitely planned!for sure!
My state of mind is fine considering.
And we WILL have a blast.
How can we not?!
Si, robin, mi piace parlare italiano con lei!
Thanks again for all the advice and support I have gotten here!
