Take everyone's advice who say not to risk missing your flight. Three hours are not enough at all. It takes at least 45 minutes with flowing traffic to get to the city center. That would leave about an hour or so for you to visit and then drive back for another 45 mins. hopefully. It is not worth the risk. Paris cannot be seen in that short of a time anyway. Visit again and spend at least a week! It'll be well worth it.

In response to Andrea's comment about place de la Concorde being about less than a minute away from Fauchon, that's not true. Fauchon is near to la Madeline and that is not right next to place de la Concorde.

Have to agree with the dissenters here...the last trip: arrival into CDG at 8am Paris, find Air France Bus and get into Paris, take taxi to hotel. Arrived at 11:00!! While it isn't Paris, the gift stores at the airport are at least good quality and IMO not too terribly overpriced.

I couldn't remember, but it sounded right to me that Place de la Mad. is next to Pl. Concorde. Looks very close on my map. Maybe not 'one minute' away, but under five minutes, if memory serves.

3 hours in Paris. You'll be lucky to drive around the block at the airport and get back in time for your next flight. Sit tight at the airport. Try going into town from CDG w/ just 3 hours and you may find out you'll have much more than 3 hours (after finding you missed your connecting flight). 3 hours at CDG can be very boring, though. It's not very commercialized (like Milan, for example, or any other major European airport). CDG reminds me of the airport in Havanna.

Cali must have left home and Paris as well by now...
Just wondering, whether she will let us know, how it went.
