Has anyone tried Pegoty's Salon de Thé
Has anyone tried Pegoty's Salon de Thé, near the Champ de Mars? It's located at 79, Ave. Bosquet. Looks like a convenient stop for that area.

Hello,
I hope I'm not too late to help. My husband and I visited Pegoty's in 1998 for late afternoon tea. We enjoyed it very much. He had a big English style breakfast and I the afternoon tea. My French is not very good so I thought at the end of my tea I would be offered a dessert tray to select one dessert. Instead the owner brought a large plate with 4 desserts all for me! Fortunately my husband was happy to help me with them.
The meals were late enough and large enough that we did not have dinner that night.
Later in the week my sister went there and reported that Pegoty's had wonderful hot chocolate.

I think the French woman who owns it is an Anglophile who wanted to recreate an English tearoom in Paris. She has done a very nice job but the desserts were very French (not complaining just explaining as my mother-in-law might have said). I'd love to go back again.
