Has anyone taken the new Paris "Vogueo" boats?

There is a new public transportation boat service on the Seine called the Vogueo which started in June.
This is the website, http://www.vogueo.fr but I can't get it to open.
I saw a segment on TV which said people could use their metro tickets on it, but also read on one website that rides cost 3 euro and on another that they cost 5 euro.
I've searched here, but found no posts about it. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet.

The site used to work - I checked it last week. Other approach is Wikipedia France

Carlux-thanks for the reply.

I'm hoping to hear some real-life experiences as well. Anyone?

I personally have no reason to go to Maisons-Alfort.

doesn't it just serve the eastern suburbs??

kerouac Jul 13th, 2008 01:22 PM

Yes. It does not go anywhere of interest to tourists, unless they want to visit the main veterinary school in France.

Well, thanks. I wasn't really clear on where it went or what one would see, so that's why I asked. I thought it might make an interesting boat ride to see something "different" than the usual tourist stuff.

Bumping this up for Monday morning to see if anyone else has feedback.

What type of feedback are you looking for? I doubt you will find anyone who has taken it here. It isn't exactly a tourist thing to do, plus it just opened. Like Kerouac said, when I'm back in Paris I don't have reason Maisons-Alfort. It's a pilot program for a more environmental friendly method of transportation. Now if they expand this pilot program further in the future it may be worth revisiting.

Interesting. I knew I knew the name Fragonard associated with perfume - and I suddenly remembered, maybe it's at one of the museums, maybe not,,thr's a place in France that has many of the old parfums unavailable today - or they will mix up a batch for you.

Anyone know of this place or remember the name ?
