Has anyone taken a Cordon Bleu cooking course?

Whenever we have the "if we won the lottery" conversation, my husband says he enroll there full time (he's worthy).
I'd love to surprise him with a half day course. It looks like it is 140 euros for a demo, tasting and lesson. I'd love to hear from someone who's done it.

Look over on the bonjourparis.com web site for the Cooking Schools topic. There's also been some discussion in the forums at eGullet.com.

Seafox who posts here at times loved it.
I'll ask him to respond if he's not on vacation.

Two of us (ladies old enough to wear purple) took the market tour last year. It was outstanding. Arrived at the school about 8:30 and met our very handsome chef/guide who took us to his favorite market and then to the Poiline Bakery. Upon returning to the school we lunched on many of the things purchased at the market plus other typical French foods and wine. After lunch we watched our chef demonstrate a starter, a main course and a dessert. A tasting followed each course. It was certainly a memorable day! This year we are doing a short day at the Alain Ducasse Cooking School and if it's even half as good as the Cordon Bleu it will be wonderful.

I agree with lidolovely in that it was a great experience. Did I learn a lot... not realy, but I'm fairly accomplished in the kitchen. Did I have a great time... absolutely....would I do it again....absolutely.... Go for it, your husband will be very pleased....slip a few extra Euros in with his gift and he can walk away with a pairing knife that has a blue Cordon Bleu handle and a fun chefs hat as well.....
