Has anyone stayed at this apartment in Rome: 109 Navona-Orso through B&B Assoc of Rome?
 

I'm interested in this apartment and would love to hear comments if anyone has stayed there. Is it in a quiet area? Anything "quirky" about it?

If you are going to use both bedrooms...I wouldn't pay for a room without a window.
For me it's a super quiet area..but then I'm from Spain, probably my standards are different !

Otherwise, for the price (fairly steep) it is nothing special -- to judge from the slow.trav review.

I hate dark apartments -- which abound in Rome, it seems.

Via dell' Orso is a charming street. But so are many streets in central Rome.

Bottom line: I'd likely pass on it, largely because of the lack of natural light. But hey, that's just me.

I don't mind the darkness, maybe because I live (and try to sleep) in a bright, light, wood-floor-high-ceiling place on a busy street in my daily life. Crawling into a dark cave at night and sleeping uninterrupted while on holiday sounds pretty good to me. Maybe I'm just getting old?

I don't find that price outrageous. The quirky-ness is the bedroom with no windows. Good location and there appears to be enough seating.

What else are you considering?

The room without a window doesn't bother me as I would gladly take that room...no window equals no noise in my opinion and unfortunately I need quiet at night. And I'm also one who usually will pay more for a view! We'll be in the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany prior to Rome...that's where I want my window with a view!!

We're going with another couple and I'm looking for an apartment in that price range (or less) and same
general area. Quiet at night is important and I liked all the seating since some apartments don't offer much.

Iovisa - Thanks for the link...just read the review and may have to think twice about it. This is difficult as I'm trying to find the least expensive lodging to keep costs down for the other couple.

I have Paradiso Big on the top of my list for the holidays--just can't tell how big/small it is. It's only 2nd floor, so that's just 2 flights of stairs. But I will be traveling with my mother, who is a wee bit picky...

Leely - 2nd floor in Italy is our 3rd floor...and they're flights of stairs are usually more than ours due to higher ceilings! Just want to make sure you're aware of all those steps!

Make that "their" flights...clearly I'm not awake and functioning yet!

My parents & aunt and uncle stayed in that very same apartment.( i was in a different apt. 5 mins. away so i was in it many times for three days)
It is quite spacious, it is a little dark because of the dark wood and everything being red. They liked it and had no problems with it. The stairs are a little steep going into toit if someone cant do stairs though. The street is quite charming with a great restaurant that has had good reviews here on this forum is L'Orso 80 right next door. Plus such quaint little coffee shops etc all around. I'd say there is nothing wrong with it at all.

lvitaly - Thank you so much for your comments as it's nice to hear from someone who's been in it. I guess I'll keep this one as a possibility ...I think we could handle the darkness as we won't be spending much time in it anyway.

I hope you noticed that the Campo de' Fiori apt's second bedroom has almost no clearance at the bottom of the double bed, and probably requires one person to climb over the other to get in and out.

I have noticed that, and yet this apartment continues to get rave reviews at Slow Travel and is extremely popular.
