Any information will be helpful!

Bunratty- Bunratty Lodge
Dingle- The Half Door
Cashel- Tir Na Nog

(still need recommendations for: Waterford, and Dublin)
Thanks!
Patti

We did not stay at the Half Door, but we did stay at Duinin House. Very nice home looking down to Dingle town. Beautiful glassed in conservatory for tea or breakfast. Pat and Anne were very pleasant and Pat's savory omlete was great! My sister stayed at Milestone and it was fine. The Lighthouse was recommende to us. You can view these at www.commerce.ie/towns_and_country/index.html Also, Duinin House http://homepage.tinet.ie/~pandaneligan

May I second the recommendation for The Lighthouse in Dingle. We had a wonderful stay there last June. It is a beautiful home overlooking the water over to the Ring of Kerry. Rooms are perfect and the breakfasts are delicious. Dennis and Mary Murphy were so warm and welcoming and helped with our plans for touring. You'd be close to town and the murphy's gave us great suggestions for dinner and music. Dingle is spectacular - don't miss a bit of it !

We didn't stay at the Bunratty lodge, but did stay at the Headley court. We loved it. It is right at the end of the Low road, with easy access to N18.

Also, Kathleen, the owner, is wonderful - very friendly and helpful, and makes delicious breakfasts.

They also have plenty of room for parking.

good luck.

p.s. in waterford - try Browns townhouse for a B&B , or the Tower Hotel - we stayed at the tower and it was very nice

We did stay at Tir na nog outside Cashel. The countryside is beautiful and we enjoyed walking to the pub with peat fires and also the cemetery. The house is new and modern. We passed a wonderful looking farmhouse along the way that really got my attention. If you are using the Town and Country, you also can use any of the farmhouse B&B's.
Also, there is supposed to be a B&B with views of Cashel if you could find it.

Thanks for all the input! I have gone ahead and booked Bunratty Lodge in Bunratty, The Lighthouse B&B in Dingle, Cliff House in Tramore (near Waterford), but am still working on Cashel. I found some info. on a B&B in Cashel called "Ladyswell House" with views of the rock but they have not answered my e-mail. I will just call over there in a few days I guess.
These B&B's that I have chose were because of their web sites, recommendations, word of mouth, etc. Also, I have booked Crystal Springs B&B in Killarney because you can fish for salmon or trout just about off their back door! (we have "fisher people" in our group!). Thanks for all the help!
I will do a full trip report when we get back in July!!! (I am already starting to pack...ok, I'm just putting things aside...-can't wait!)
Patti

I may be a little late on my reply, but I am sending my reccomendations anyway! Definitely visit Dingle. We stayed at the Greenmount House. It is a wonderful B&B overlooking the bay. Reservations are extremely hard to come by. Some people book a year in advance. If you are at all planning to be close to Kilkenny, stay at the Nore Bridge House in Inistioge. It is my favorite B&B by far. The hosts (Angela and Frank) are wonderful people, their home is impeccable and their food is wonderful. If you are looking for good ideas or references, visit http://www.local.ie It is maintained by the Irish Times (i think) and I think it is the best website for anything Irish.

I just found the farmhouse book and looked up this B&B and the name is Dualla House. Elegant 200 yr. old Georgian.Recommended by Le Guide du routard, Frommer and other special awards. I saw it and loved the setting.email [email protected]

This is to Bev..You mentioned Cliff House at Tramore.I have a reservation for Cliff House but I have been told it is in Ardmore??.but that is about 12 km south of Waterford so now I am really confused..can you clarify?

Another recommendation for the Greenmount House in Dingle-this was absolutely one of our favorite places to stay. Dingle is a wonderful town with great music, fantastic food & drink, all in beautiful surroundings.
ENJOY!
|
K, There is a Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Cliff House B&B in Tramore.
Both are in County Waterford, but Ardmore is a good 40km from waterford, Tramore 12km. County Waterford is a magical unspoiled area - special.

We loved the Rectory House in Dundrum, right near Cashel. If you're there on a Saturday, they have music and all the locals come. We had a blast!
