Has anyone stayed at the HOTEL BRITANNIQUE in Paris?
 

I am thinking about booking at this hotel. Has any one stayed here? Details, Details...

We did many years ago. It was clean and basic then. It's been redecorated since and looks very nice. It's certainly well located, in the 1st arr. near the Chatelet theatre just over the chatelet metro stop. I expect you'd be happy with a booking there.

Richard, we stayed at the Hotel Britannique in December 99 for New Years - very nice and clean, with a great location. Its right off the Chatelet metro stop which intersects about 5 lines in Paris, so you can be anywhere very quickly. The rooms and elevator were small, but what else is knew for Paris. The staff were pleasant - when my husband went looking for ice the first night (its a Texas thing) they gave him a wine bucket full of ice. The rest of our visit we found ice in our room every night when we came in. I'd recommend it and stay there again.

I've stayed there and would agree with the post above. The rooms are small but beautifully decorated. I had a room facing the front of the hotel with a small balcony, and was able to leave the balcony doors open to get a nice breeze. The hotel is on a short one-way street so you don't get much street noise, even in the front. I found the breakfast room to be a little small and crowded when I was there, but that was about the only criticism that I have of the place. Its a nice choice, reasonably priced and very well located.

I keep hearing that the rooms are small, but how small is small?<BR>

We stayed at the Britannique in November and were very pleased. In fact, we will book there again if we ever return to Paris. The location was ideal. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. Quite cozy. The room was no smaller than the rooms at two other hotels where I stayed on previous trips to Paris so I didn't think anything about the size. I think you would be pleased.

I stayed there last summer and it a small, clean hotel with nicely decorated rooms. It is also a good location since it is located near Les Halles and a good metro station.
