Has anyone stayed at a "StayOkay" Hotel, Hostel?
I'm looking at a newly built/newly rennovated StayOkay in Maastricht, NL for our kids next month. It'd be for a week, two mature teens alone.
On their website, I can't really tell if they are a hostel or hotel or if that really matters. I'm just looking for a clean, safe place not more than 80 E, inc breakfast. In my experience, a new hotel, even though cheaper, can be a nicer place than a more expensive, yet possibly run down, hotel. Has anyone stayed at one of these? |
I haven't, but I think it would be fine for two teens, and I've heard that many hostels in N Europe can be pretty nice for hostels. They are often much better than in some other countries.
It seems like it is definitely a hostel to me, as the website for Stayokay says they are hostels, they are a member of Hostelling International and listed on lots of hostel websites, also. |
Thanks for the input Christina. We just might take a chance on it.
Anyone else have anything to add?? |
You will probably have to make your own beds and you'll probably have to pay a nominal charge for towels (if they are available, although they likely are). There probably won't be a phone in the room, and no shampoo, soap, etc. So far, I've gotten whatever limited help I needed from hostel staff as easily as I've gotten it from hotel staff.

Are you booking them a private room? If so, do so quickly, because private rooms at StayOkay hostels tend to fill up quickly.

Thanks for the information, WillT. Yes, they would want a private room, so they'll have to make up their minds soon. Thanks for the heads-up.
