Sean, <BR>People on this forum are mostly great, but they can be cruel if you ask a stupid question. Renting a car in the UK is a great idea, but not without its challenges. Yes, it IS confusing. Not only do you have to become accustomed to driving on the "other" side, but you also have to learn to deal with rotaries. You have to look to the left for the rear-view mirror. You should rent an automatic, otherwise you would have to shift with your left hand. In some places in the countryside, there are single-track roads, which means that there is only one lane, with pull-outs to let people pass. Mostly, though, you will be driving on main roads that have lots of traffic, and the their rules of the road are a little different from ours. Do a search on google.com: "Driving in the UK" and see what comes up. If you have any doubts about your ability to handle it, for heaven's sake DON'T.
