Has anyone recently flown First Class on Lufthansa from Germany to Chicago?

Hi

We're planning next Year's trip and using miles to fly 4 of us into Salsburg and out of Krakow - both through Germany. Has anyone recntly flown Frist Class (or Business Class) to or from the US to Germany? My other option would of course be AA and BA through London which we have done many times in the past. We do have some time to make a decision but need to book 329 days in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Not US, but ... Flew Lufthansa business class London - Frankfurt last month.

How was the service, comforts, etc?

No big deal, actually. I mean, it was no better than United, comfort-wise. Service-wise, fine, except at Heathrow in the lounge thing. Snotttttttty. I swear to god, the receptionist lady was Eva Braun reincarnated.

Don't get me wrong, I don't fly business class usually, only when we've got miles to burn. And so when I do, I totally appreciate it, and all that. Just that for some reason I thought Lufthansa was going to be all that, and it wasn't.

I flew from Frankfurt to Dulles last December on Lufthansa, and business class felt more like super economy--nothing really special.

Flying London - Frankfurt does not provide a good comparison of a long haul flight in Business Class.

First the aircraft - London - Frankfurt a narrow bodied aircraft- no real business class seating- normal seating with middle row blocked out-

Long Haul - wide bodied aircraft- true business class seat with usual extras including entertainment.

Staff that is usually efficient and attentive.

Aircraft, realitively new, well mantained and normally on time.

Perhaps just as important- no transfer in the Heathrow mess.

We flew Lufthansa Business Boston-Frandfurt-Rome and return Rome-Munich-Boston.
Not nearly as nice as American Business. Still better than coach though! Like others have said, not the greatest.

Never flew biz class with Lufthansa just sardine class but was very happy with service and everything else. Best thing is what someone mentioned. At least you won't be dealing with the LHR mess.

I flew Lufthansa first class from Frankfurt to San Francisco in June and was shocked to discover that it was the best flight, seat, food and service I have ever had. Shocked because the last Lufthansa intercontinental flight I took, several years ago, was in business class and very disapponting: seats nothing special, food not good, negligent service.

I would jump at the chance to fly first class with them again, but wouldn't do business class again, based on those two experiences.

flew Sand fransisco-frankfurt first class recently, beyond great, and as a bonus, there is a first class only terminal that is set aside from the main terminal that is awesome, then you are driven to the plane right on thr tarmac. lufthansa to germany is great 1st class, business is nice.
