Has anyone noticed lately....
If you have flown lately, say the last two or three weeks, are the planes any less crowded with the supposed economic slowdown? I haven't flown since last Spring (but will soon!) and every single flight back then was absolutely packed.

Flew SFO-CGD on 8/16, and NCE-CGD-SFO on 9/3 - all full flights.
Flew CDG to EWR and back again -- both packed (but had to be bused to JFK as the EWR to CDG had only 18 people on it so they canceled the flight.) Neither flight had a seat open that I could find.

Our flight LAX-London Heathrow on Aug. 10 was very full. The return flight on Aug. 23, Heathrow-LAX, was full in coach. Premium economy was 75% full, and upper class was only about half full. (Flew Virgin Atlantic)

Just flew msp to Chicago& back- Packed!
Just returned from across the country.(US) Everything was packed. The gate agents asked if anyone wanted to give up their seats.
Flew MUC-CDG-DFW on August 22 and back on the 29th. The flight from Paris to DFW was EMPTY and the return to Paris was probably 80% full.
Flew last Saturday (01 sep) from Miami to Amsterdam and they also asked for volunteers to give up seats from our packed DC-10. Using the last two or three weeks though is probably not a good indicator; many Europeans were just returning home from August holidays. At least, I hope that was the case -- I am hoping for a spare seat or two for my return trip home to the U.S. mid-Sept.
