Has anyone here seen any evidence yet of summer airfare sales?

We need to get to Vilnius from Minneapolis. Our son's wedding is July 1 in Lithuania, and normally for just leasure travel I'd just wait until about a month out and I've never had any problems finding good last minute airfares. This year though I am getting concerned and trying to figure out if I should just bite the bullet and buy early rather than using my typical last minute strategy.
We are looking at all different sort of possibilities just to get to Europe and then fly a cheap carrier to Vilnius or Riga. Got any thoughts? I know that one of my problems is that I live in Minneapois rather than on the ease coast where there are all sorts of cheap flights.
I am really spoiled because we have never, ever paid more than about $600 round trip to Europe even in peak season.

Of course, what comes to mind is the connection from Gatwick to Vilnius on I believe it is Air Baltic or Baltic Air...
You are going to pay more than you used to because it is no longer back "when you used to" and since you live in that Northwest-dominated hub welll..that happens in a lot of hubs...
Have you looked on EVERY consolidator and aggregator site out there?

I've been periodically seeing fares between $600 and $700 all-in from SEA to various European cities for summer travel. The thing is that these fares are not advertised and appear to pop up almost randomly, and of course do not last that long. It's far more common to see fares in the $1000-1100 range.
I'd set up Orbitz Deal Detectors (maybe with more than one account, so you can have more than 3), for various dates and cities. Also try Travelocity flexible date search. Also use ITASoftware.com .

$687 on USAir from MSP to Dublin (via ORD and PHL) then Air Baltic to Vilnius for around €140 RT. Call it $850 all in. I used June 27/July 4 but your dates will probably be different hence the price might fluctuate some.

111op, finding cheap airfares is one of my hobbies. I use the various search tools, and enter whatever route comes into my head, and then every now and then a fare that is about 50% of the typical fare shows up. I know these fares aren't advertised, because I belong to most of the newsletters and web sites that tell me about sales.(I don't spend that much time at this, really, honestly, but now and then I do look.)

Thanks to all of you.
Gardyloo--I'll definitely look at USAir, one of my least favorite airlines, but one I've also used a lot because they always seem to have some cheap fares out of MSP to Europe. Not a bad fare total you came up with considering London to MSP by itself is hideously expensive this year. Thanks much. I doubt if I will find anything much cheaper than this considering the fact that MSP is a long way from Lithuania.
rbndwln--I had thought of the NY idea but hadn't checked it out yet. I'll work on that too.

You might want to see how much it would cost you for your dates to go from MPS to ORD, then main part of your trip from Chicago; there are often good prices from Chi. to Europe
Might save some bucks, might not...but it's worth having a look.

Gardyloo--
How did you find that fare on USAir? I tried their web-site using the search by price feature and couldn't come up with anything near this price. Those prices they list are before taxes. Maybe that's what you came up with. I also tried Travelocity's flexible fare finder and couldn't get anything near that either.
