Has anyone had any experience with WheelsinEurope?

They offer Renault Eurodrive short-term leases as well as car rentals. I am going on a study trip this summer and will need a one way car for a few months. I am picking up in Lyon and planning to drop off in Rome on the way back. I did a google search but did not find too many reviews about them, just wanted to make sure they are legit before my friends and I book.

My friends and I are also curious about Gasoline vs Diesel. I believe Diesel cars cost a little more but better on MPG, so does the MPG justify the higher price of the car?

Thank you for your input.

Whether diesel is better than petrol really depends on the mileage you expect to do. The higher the mileage, the more advantage there is to diesel. The other advantage to diesel is that the range is greater, since they have the same size fuel tank as the equivalent petrol model. this means that you fill up less often, and can pick cheaper fuel stations. It also means that you can more easily avoid the need to fill up at a weekend, when fuel stations may be closed or may only have card-operated pumps available.

All fuel stations in Europe have both diesel and petrol available, usually from the same pump, but watch out for the different colour hoses.

Diesel is about 10% cheaper, and gives 10% better mileage, = 21% cheaper in cost per mile.

There are other companies that offer this. Some require pick up and return at airport locations.

Make sure to check if there is a surcharge for picking up a car in one country and dropping it off in another.
