Has Anyone Ever Flown Alitalia?

Is Alitalia a good airline? I will be going to Europe in three weeks. One leg of my trip will be on Alitalia. What can I expect? Any information will be appreciated.

Hi! I've flown on AZ from Chicago to Rome, also within Italy and within Europe, and can only recommend it. Great service, charming yet professional crews (hey, they're Italian), on-time flights (almost) every time, planes in good condition. So expect a great, relaxing flight.

I flew on Alitalia several times and had very good service. You shouldn't have any problems with this company.

Alitalia is just as good as any of the other major airlines---fly them frequently. Would certainly recommend them. That said, does anyone remember the old joke "How do you tell an Alitalia plane? By the hair under the wings!" I can say that because my husband is Italian, so I get away with it. Even our Italian relatives appreciated it.
Agree with all of the above. But a word of warning: If you're travelling with your husband/boyfriend, you might want to keep an eye on him. The flight attendants are all GORGEOUS! I didn't check their underarms...but their dazzling smiles and olive-complected skin really made my flight VERY enjoyable.

Hair under the WINGS, Ray, let's not get anybody into trouble with the flight attendants!! Anyway, Alitalia is a good airline with better than average food and sadly, don't think my husband notices the pretty faces anymore--he takes a pill and goes to sleep!
