Has anyone done Canadian Air to Europe Lately?

If so, how was it (food, space, service)? Anyone try for upgrades? I see lots of chat about BA, AA and Continental, but not CA. We got an incredible price on our tickets (months ago) and set to go out later this month; however, we were called last week and told one of our flights had been cancelled and we were re-booked on another MUCH earlier flight. Wondering if we can work it to get an upgrade - at least for my hubby and me?

Do you mean Air Canada?

Hi L,

Why would the airline give you an upgrade?

CRAZY4TRAVEL Jul 9th, 2006 08:52 AM

I flew Air Canada and Lufthansa to Rome by way of Germany last year. The flight over was a Lufthansa plane and crew and back was Air Canada. The Air Canada flight had more leg room and better service than Lufthansa.

Forget the upgrade...it is almost impossible to score an upgrade with Air Canada these days.

If you are with Aeroplan, have upgrade certificate and within right fare type, it isn't hard to have an upgrade, I have done that about half of my filghts. But, I am afraid changing schedule not likely to be the reason.

Do you mean Canadian Affair? If so, it's a Thomas Cooke airline & I booked it from Montreal to London for Sept.A friend just returned having used that airline & had a positive experience. Price was right.

I hear they offer free beer and wine in economy across the Atlantic. U.S. airlines charge $5.
