Has anyone been to Lofoten in Norway?

Hi,
I am planning a trip in August with my brother to Norway. I am planning on flying into Oslo and spending one night there. I would like to take a day trip to Bergen and then stay in Lofoten for 3 or so days. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for my itinerary?
Thanks!

These selected pics may give you some feel for Lofoten. We started in Oslo, took NIN to Bergen, boarded a Hurtigruten vessel for a two day trip to Trondheim. Stayed a few days and took another Hurtigruten to Bodo. Rented a car, ferried across to the Lofotens....drove from "A" (pronounced "Aw") alongside the spine ("the wall") to beyond the largest town, Svolvaer..eventually ferried to the mainland, drove to Narvik and Tromso. Took night train from Narvik to Stockholm.

The scenic wonders of Norway and Lofoten are indeed dramatic. Do it. Note: You've been referring to "Lofoten" as if it's a city or town..no...part of a string of North Sea Islands off the coast of Norway. See map.
