Hello Aileen,

If the times suite you it's not bad for the convenience A to B transport. (I've never used it).

For more flexibility you can easily do it by train at a cost saving, with a change of train in Naples.

There is also a daily Rome-Pompei bus service (once per day each way), which is the cheapest option of all.

Otherwise there are several Rome bus tour companies which offer a Pompei tour, - Vastours, Appian, Carrani, Greenline ... Details are on their websites.

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Aileen:
I guess you have located EnjoyRome's website http://www.enjoyrome.com ?
The tour you mention is the new shuttle offer which comes without any guides. The company also have guided bus tours, walking tours and even Rome bicycling. All guidance is in English, and the guides are very well educated and to my knowledge most of them are American.
Two years ago I arranged a 4-day's Rome trip for my company, and we hired EnjoyRome for two differnt walks, the Vatican tour and the tour of ancient Rome. It was a formidable success, and I cannot praise the company highly enough, and I feel confident that you'll get quality for each cent if you choose any guided option.
Bjorn, Oslo
I

Aileen - Just had second thoughts on this.

If it's just transport and doesn't include admission, actually it's quite expensive.
You can do the same journey by regular bus (from Tiburtina Station) for approx. Euro 30.00.

Otherwise the round-trip train fare would be Euro 35-48, depending on whether you travel by Eurostar or Intercity.

Steve
